Last night 250 of the most influential people from the digital, telecommunications and service industries joined Andrew Castle (evening’s host) and Jeffrey Archer (star auctioneer) at a dazzling charity auction run by Dixons Carphone – raising over £369,000 to support young people in the UK suffering with mental health problems.

In its 10th year, and held at the glamorous Rosewood hotel, generous guests bid on a range of auction lots at the event. All funds raised will go towards making a significant difference to the lives of children and young people, by supporting the charity The Mix – who reach and support 2 million young people every year in the UK.

For their efforts, guests were treated to an evening full of entertainment, a live auction hosted by Jeffrey Archer and a special video message from HRH the Duke of Cambridge – thanking them for their support. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry are spearheading the Head’s Together campaign. It aims to support those going through difficult times and to end the stigma surrounding mental health – with the help of eight partner charities – The Mix being one.

Chris Martin, CEO at The Mix, says: “The UK faces an epidemic of young people struggling with their mental wellbeing. The Mix is unique is providing 24-hour support, 365 days a year through the digital, social and mobile channels young people turn to first. Thanks to the incredible support of Dixons Carphone and all those who attended on the night, we will be able to help thousands more young people in crisis.”

Kesah Trowell, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Dixons Carphone, says: “Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this event such a huge success, thereby enabling us, through our partnership with The Mix and their positive use of connected technology, to help safeguard the mental wellbeing of young people in the UK”.
