My ex and I had a very good sex life and were very experimental. We were both into fairly niche things and sometimes expressing needs and wants could be difficult. However we both used a social networking website for kinky people. On our profiles we could add lists of fetishes or things we were curious about. We could explore and learn about each other through there then put it into practice.
Not all conversations are easy to have so it was a great middle ground. We could also write blog entries to express some things.

Obviously its essential to have proper conversations face to face but this was brilliant to start those conversations.
