Is Blue Monday really the most depressing day of the year?
Is Blue Monday really the most depressing day of the year? We look at the facts and give you alternative ways to spend the day.
Blue Monday is approaching and well, we think its bullshit.
How did it all start?
Let’s go back to the beginning… Blue Monday started as a marketing ploy to persuade people to buy more holiday flights. Clever, huh? However, it’s somehow snuck into our culture and now it’s a day where we are expected to feel sad. All over the world, people take to social media and curl up in a bundle of sadness waiting for Blue Monday to pass.
So how am I supposed to feel?
We’re here to tell you it’s all nonsense – Blue Monday is just like every other Monday in January. So YOU decide how you want to feel, whether that’s happy or sad; you don’t need us to tell you that!
Though, it is possible you may be feeling sad – or even have the blues – on Blue Monday. No matter the day of the week, The Mix is here to support you through any difficulties. Whether that is through our chats and boards, web chat or counselling service, you never have to face your problems alone.
So take a look at our video for a few happier things to do – Queue, Screw and Hugh are just a few of them.
