We’re very excited to be taking part in this year’s WorldSkills UK, which will be held at the NEC Birmingham from 21st – 23rd November. The event is the UK’s largest skills, apprenticeship and careers event and is designed to inspire young people in the early stages of their careers.

If you’re starting to think about what you might want to do for work, this is a great chance to find out more about your options, speak to some experts and take part in some cool careers events. Up to 70,000 students are expected to visit the show over three days and there are still places! You can sign up here.

The theme of this year’s event is mental health and resilience. WorldSkills UK are working with Million Minds and The Mix to encourage young people to take their mental health seriously, to help them feel prepared for the future world of work.

Those aged 14-18 will have the chance to take part in Million Minds Lesson, a live mental health lesson with an amazing line up of presenters, designed to teach young people how to have a positive dialogue about mental health.

The Mix team will be taking part across the whole three days, running interactive events, a talk on online safety, a workshop on content creation and a live panel discussion.

Members of The Mix staff will also be on hand to talk to teachers and parents about our triage tool. This tool supports the mental health of young people throughout the UK and enables schools and families to understand mental health trends and to receive support from The Mix.
