Through our inaugural YouthLab’s research programme we wanted to better understand how young people are using social media; their behaviours with it and the impact it is having on their lives; the opportunities it opens for them, and the challenges they may face using it.

What we identified from this research were four dominant behavioural types, reflecting young people’s journey with social media.  For many this journey reflects their transition into adulthood.
